Margot Brandenburg
Margot Brandenburg is Associate Director at the Rockefeller Foundation, where works on program initiatives that pertain broadly to economic development, including Harnessing the Power of Impact Investing and an initiative focused on the economic security of low-income US workers. A significant part of her work on Impact Investing is spent managing the Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS) project, recently moved to the Global Impact Investing Network, as well as the Global Impact Investing Rating System (GIIRS), a startup company designed to develop ratings for social and environmental impact funds. Prior to joining the Foundation, Brandenburg worked in the field of microfinance, mostly in sub-Saharan and North Africa. She has held positions at the African Development Bank and the Microfinance Information eXchange (MIX), and has spent extended periods of time providing technical assistance to microfinance and community development institutions in the US and Africa. Brandenburg received her Masters in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton, and her BA in International Relations from Stanford University. She also serves as a Board member of Brooklyn Cooperative Credit Union.
