Ryan Newton is Director of Business Development at Credit Where Credit is Due, Inc. (CWCID), a nonprofit organization that financially empowers low-income communities across NYC. Through its close partnership with Neighborhood Trust Federal Credit Union, one of over 200 community development credit unions (CDCUs) in the U.S., CWCID has a unique model of combining financial education with access to affordable financing and formal asset-building opportunities. Ryan oversees the Credit Union Education Program at Neighborhood Trust; develops and integrates innovative asset development products into CWCID's programs; and develops and expands partnerships with peer CDCUs and community organizations. Prior to joining CWCID, Ryan was the Remittance Marketing Manager at Citibank North America, where she developed and promoted remittance products and corridors in coordination with Citi Microfinance. Ryan has also conducted Fulbright research in Spain on European immigration policy. She holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
